Guidelines
- We won't release an animal as a gift unless the prospective owner is interviewed.
- We don't place small boned animals in a home with small children.
- Cats are almost always placed as indoor pets.
- Housebroken dogs are not placed as outdoor dogs.
- Dogs not housebroken, which are recognized as unsuited or unaccustomed to outdoor living are placed only in homes where there is an adult home during the day to housebreak.
- Large dogs are not placed in apartments or mobile homes in which they must be confined by a chain.
- Animals are not released right before Christmas, and hunting dogs are not placed right before hunting season.
- Young students and those under the age of 18 will be more stringently screened for eligibility to adopt.
